The Technology

A brief introduction to Heatshield

Advanced heat-reflective coating technology for buildings and industrial facilities.

What is Heatshield?

Heatshield is a high-performance, heat-reflective coating engineered to improve the thermal efficiency of buildings and industrial facilities. Its advanced formulation helps reduce heat absorption by reflecting radiant heat away from treated surfaces.

Applied at a thickness of approximately 0.5–1 mm, Heatshield can reflect up to 90% of radiant thermal energy, helping to reduce heat gain during hot weather while improving indoor comfort and supporting more efficient heating during cooler months.

As a result, buildings treated with Heatshield experience reduced overheating in summer, more even heat distribution in winter, and the potential for significant energy savings.

Applications in buildings

Heatshield is suitable for a wide range of architectural applications, including:

  • Concrete surfaces
  • Lime-cement plaster
  • Brick and masonry buildings
  • Reinforced concrete and panel structures
  • Fire walls
  • Thermal bridge treatment
  • Wall sections behind radiators
  • Areas susceptible to condensation and mould formation
  • Buildings with insufficient insulation where traditional insulation systems are impractical due to space limitations

Based on practical experience, buildings treated with Heatshield may achieve energy savings of approximately 20–40%, depending on the building type, insulation quality, climate conditions, and application.

Our field experience continues to demonstrate significant improvements in thermal performance and energy efficiency.

Versatile and easy to apply

The ease of application makes Heatshield suitable for numerous environments, including:

  • Residential homes
  • Apartment buildings
  • Commercial offices
  • Industrial halls
  • Schools
  • Hospitals and medical clinics
  • Government buildings
  • Hotels
  • Holiday homes
  • Warehouses
  • Garages
  • Technological heat pipelines

Heatshield promotes more even indoor temperatures while allowing the building envelope to remain vapour permeable. By reducing condensation, it helps minimise mould formation and contributes to a healthier indoor environment.

Nanotechnology thermal insulation

Heatshield incorporates advanced ceramic microsphere technology, representing one of the most innovative applications of nanotechnology in thermal insulation.

The coating contains microscopic hollow ceramic microspheres filled with low-pressure gas. These engineered ceramic particles significantly reduce heat transfer through conduction and radiant heat, while maintaining a lightweight and durable protective coating.

Once cured, Heatshield forms a tough yet flexible insulating layer that resists cracking and mechanical stress better than many conventional insulation materials.

The ceramic microspheres are suspended within a specially formulated acrylic polymer and elastomer-based coating, allowing Heatshield to be easily applied using brushes, rollers, or airless spray equipment. Once cured, multiple thin layers create an ultra-thin insulating barrier with exceptional thermal performance.

The coating is designed to operate across a wide temperature range, making it suitable for both building and industrial applications.

Heatshield is widely used for thermal insulation of:

  • Building façades
  • Interior walls
  • Roofs
  • Industrial equipment
  • Pipelines
  • Tanks
  • Ventilation ducts
  • High-temperature process systems

In addition to thermal insulation, Heatshield also provides:

  • Water resistance
  • Condensation control
  • Corrosion protection
  • Additional acoustic insulation
